The Incumbent will be responsible for- Job Purpose- The incumbent will lead customer engagement, project origination, bid management, strategic partnerships, commercial negotiations, and market development initiatives to establish the organization as a leading player in the rapidly growing utility scale energy storage market. The role requires strong understanding of grid infrastructure, renewable integration, ancillary services, and energy storage applications. Role Accountabilities- Market Development & Business Growth- 1. Identify and develop new business opportunities for utility-scale BESS projects across India. 2. Develop relationships with: Central & State Utilities DISCOMs Power Transmission Companies Renewable Energy Developers Independent Power Producers (IPPs) Open Access Consumers Commercial & Industrial Customers Government Agencies & Regulators 3. Build a strong pipeline of standalone BESS, solar + storage, wind + storage, and grid stabilization projects. 4. Monitor market developments, policy changes, tenders, and regulatory frameworks impacting energy storage business. Opportunity Origination & Project Development- 1. Lead project identification and origination activities for energy storage projects. 2. Analyze market demand, grid congestion, renewable integration requirements, and emerging ancillary service opportunities. 3. Evaluate project viability, business cases, and revenue potential. 4. Support development of new business models for energy storage applications. Tendering & Bid Management- 1. Identify and track tenders from: SECI NTPC NHPC State Utilities Power Grid DISCOMs Private Developers 2. Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, SCM, and project teams for bid preparation. 3. Lead techno-commercial proposal development and submission. 4. Participate in customer presentations, clarifications, and commercial negotiations. Customer & Strategic Partnership Management- 1. Build and maintain strong relationships with EPC companies, technology providers, OEMs, system integrators, and financial institutions. 2. Develop strategic alliances with PCS providers, EMS/SCADA vendors, and renewable developers. 3. Negotiate commercial agreements, partnership contracts, and framework arrangements. Commercial & Financial Analysis- 1. Prepare detailed business cases and financial models. 2. Support pricing strategies and commercial negotiations. 3. Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Regulatory & Industry Engagement- 1. Track developments related to: Energy Storage Obligations (ESO) Ancillary Services Market Grid Stabilization Programs Renewable Energy Integration Policies Energy Storage Tenders Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
