Role & responsibilities Administer and support SharePoint Subscription Edition (SPSE) on-premises environments. Manage SharePoint farms, web applications, service applications, and site collections. Handle L2/L3 support activities including incidents, problems, and change requests through ITSM tools. Perform SharePoint installations, upgrades, OS patching, and SharePoint Cumulative Updates (CUs). Plan and execute weekend or after-hours deployments, maintenance, and patching activities. Monitor SharePoint environment health, performance, logs, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues. Manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations. Configure and maintain SharePoint security, authentication (Entra ID), and permissions. Support and troubleshoot custom SharePoint solutions, workflows, and third-party integrations/add-ons. Collaborate with infrastructure, SQL, network, and security teams for seamless operations. Enforce SharePoint governance, operational standards, and best practices. Prepare and maintain runbooks, SOPs, patching plans, and technical support documentation.
Preferred candidate profile
5-8 years of experience in SharePoint administration with a strong focus on on-premises environments. Hands-on expertise in SharePoint Subscription Edition (SPSE), SharePoint 2019, or SharePoint 2016 administration. Strong understanding of SharePoint farm architecture, administration, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administration and automation. Good operational knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server. Experience in OS patching, SharePoint patching, and Cumulative Update (CU) management. Familiarity with ITSM processes and support operations. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution. Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Willingness to support weekend or after-hours maintenance and deployment activities when required. Good communication and documentation skills.
