Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader to serve as the General Manager and Head of Procurement for our Railway Cars and Commercial Vehicles division based in Delhi NCR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for railway and commercial vehicle components.
- Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with strategic partners to secure favorable pricing, quality standards, and service level agreements.
- Manage the entire vendor ecosystem by evaluating performance, fostering long-term partnerships, and diversifying the supply base.
- Oversee complex material management processes, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and localising suppliers. Strategic sourcing and procurement within the heavy engineering, automotive, or railway sectors, with a proven track record of managing large-scale capital expenditure.
- Exceptional analytical abilities to perform detailed costing, market trend analysis, and risk assessment to support executive-level decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and build collaborative, long-term relationships with external vendors.
-Preferred candidate profile
- A postgraduate degree in Management and Engineering from a premier institute like IIT and IIMs is highly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in an on-site, fast-paced manufacturing environment in Delhi NCR, demonstrating high adaptability to evolving market demands and technical specifications.
- Possession of 12 - 20 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain leadership roles.
