Role & responsibilities
1. Security Operations
- Ensure effective security coverage across the plant on a 247 basis.
- Monitor and control access of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Conduct routine and surprise patrols across plant premises.
- Monitor all entry and exit gates for personnel, vehicles, and materials.
- Enforce security policies, procedures, and SOPs.
2. Access Control & Asset Protection
- Verify visitor, contractor, and employee authorization before granting access.
- Ensure proper inward and outward movement of materials through gate pass verification.
- Prevent theft, pilferage, unauthorized movement, and property loss.
- Manage key control systems and restricted area access.
- Ensure security of raw materials, finished goods, tools, and company assets.
3. CCTV & Security Surveillance
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems continuously.
- Investigate suspicious activities through CCTV footage.
- Maintain surveillance equipment and report system failures.
- Coordinate with IT/vendors for upkeep of electronic security systems.
4. Incident Management
- Respond promptly to security breaches, thefts, accidents, fire incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations.
- Conduct preliminary investigations and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Preserve evidence wherever required.
- Coordinate with local police, fire department, and emergency services.
5. Fire & Emergency Management
- Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting equipment.
- Conduct emergency evacuation drills and mock drills.
- Support implementation of Emergency Response Plans.
- Promote fire prevention and emergency preparedness across the plant.
6. Security Administration
- Maintain daily security reports and occurrence registers.
- Maintain visitor records, contractor records, vehicle movement logs, and material movement records.
- Ensure complete documentation of incidents and investigations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
7. Contractor & Vendor Security
- Monitor deployment and discipline of outsourced security manpower.
- Verify contractor documentation and compliance.
- Ensure contractor movement complies with company security procedures.
- Coordinate with security agencies for manpower deployment.
8. Security Risk Management
- Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments.
- Identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize security risks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company security standards.
9. Traffic & Vehicle Management
- Manage internal traffic movement.
- Ensure smooth movement of trucks and company vehicles.
- Verify vehicle documentation and gate passes.
- Maintain parking discipline within plant premises.
