Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Organization and departmental alignment

- Define and execute departmental objectives and action plans aligned with the company's vision, mission, and longterm growth strategy.

- Contribute actively to organizational strategic planning to ensure the Manufacturing, Stores, Dispatch, Facility Management, and Maintenance function enhances competitiveness, profitability, and sustainability.

- Establish frameworks and policies and drive overall team performance.

  • Manufacturing Operations Management

- Plan and utilize production capacity effectively to meet output and timeline targets as per customer (Naval and all other projects) commitments and product delivery.

- Ensure smooth execution of production schedules in line with the Planning department with zero delays.

- Optimize manpower, material, machine utilization, and productivity across manufacturing functions.

- Enhance plant efficiency, throughput, capacity utilization and minimize operational losses.

- Lead costreduction initiatives and improve warehouse performance.

  • Plant Facility Management (Plant)

- Oversee end to end facility management ensuring uninterrupted utilities, infrastructure upkeep, safety, and statutory compliance.

- Ensure readiness of power, HVAC, materialhandling systems, shopfloor layouts, lighting, EHS systems, storage, and utilities.

- Implement preventive and digital maintenance for all facility infrastructure.

- Ensure all applicable compliance with licenses, pollution norms, fire systems, structural safety, etc.

- Drive sustainability initiatives including energy, water, waste, and carbonreduction programs.

  • Stores, Inventory & Dispatch

- Ensure efficient stores and dispatch operations with strict adherence to SOPs.

- Enforce disciplined ERP usage and accurate inventory documentation.

- Maintain optimal inventory levels of classified items (especially critical items) to avoid shortages and excess stock.

- Optimize dispatch planning, minimize freight costs, and ensure compliant packaging & documentation.

- Implement robust handling, loading, and transport safety processes.

  • Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

- Establish and execute PM schedules for all equipment and machinery.

- Ensure high uptime and maintain critical spare parts availability.

- Reduce breakdowns through a zerounplanneddowntime culture.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with Design, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Safety, PMG, and AMR for seamless operations.

- Highlight and resolve systemic issues impacting production timelines.

  • HSE & Sustainability

- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policy, process, protocols and procedures across all operational functions.

- Promote a strong safety culture and zeroaccident mindset.

- Build awareness for sustainability initiatives across teams.

  • Continuous Improvement & Digitalization

- Drive ISO, ZED, 5S, Lean, Kaizen, and TPM implementation.

- Ensure effective RCA execution and corrective actions.

- Lead automation and digital manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency.

  • People & Team Leadership

- Build, mentor, and retain a highperformance Manufacturing, Stores, Dispatch, Facility Management, and Maintenance team.

- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Manufacturing, Stores, Dispatch, Facility Management, and Maintenance to enable effective and efficient execution.

- Drive competency development to support functional and operational requirements.

- Identify and develop successors for key roles in Manufacturing, Stores, Dispatch, Facility Management, and Maintenance Department/s.


Preferred candidate profile

- BE/BTech in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering /Production / Operations from premium Engineering Institute

- 15-20 years of experience in core manufacturing operations with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, leading multiple production units

Experience and exposure to Chillers Manufacturing for Marine/Defence/specialised Industries is preferred.
