Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

REPORTING LINE:

LOCATION: Porur, Chennai

POSITION PURPOSE

Working across the Asia Pacific region, this role supports the FP&A Manager in the planning, forecasting and analysis functions that are pivotal in driving financial performance. The role plays a critical part in translating financial data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Support regional planning activities including budgeting and forecasting.
    • Add value through the provision of insightful monthly commentary.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis.
    • Assist with pricing and cost management reviews across the region by developing in depth analysis and models with actionable outcomes.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing timely insights to senior management.

Reporting

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis and KPI tracking.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data in line with Group requirements.

Strategic Support

  • Support the FP&A Manager to partner with both regional and local business leaders to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.
    • Assist in evaluating potential investments, business initiatives and M&A opportunities.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Group Finance, company finance and commercial teams to gather data and align financial strategies.
    • Adopt a culture of financial accountability and awareness.

Process Improvement

  • Provide assistance and education on the Global Planning tool to Finance and Business leaders to maximise the value to the business.
    • Identify and escalate to the FP&A Manager process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Assist in the implementation of identifies process improvements.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously refine FP&A methodologies.

People

  • At all times take a business partnering and customer service approach to support businesses.

General

  • Ensure adoption of and adherence to global policies including accounting and global compliance policies (delegation of authority, AML, ABC, Sanctions etc).
    • Be compliant with all Phenna Group Policies and Procedures.
    • Undertake other duties in line with skills and experience as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Business/Finance (or related field)
    • Current CPA or CA registration (preferred)
    • 5 years + experience in similar financial roles, with experience working in multi-national companies
    • A clear understanding of the professional, ethical and legal responsibilities relevant to the position and demonstrated ability to maintain compliance, manage risks and promote corporate governance
    • Commercial acumen, an understanding of growth strategies with strong awareness of the bottom line
    • Ability to influence without direct reporting lines is essential
    • Demonstrated comprehensive experience with accounting software and advanced level of MS Excel
