Role Summary
The Production Officer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and executing daily production operations to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, safety, and GMP standards. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional departments, managing manpower and materials, maintaining SAP transactions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily production activities as per the approved production plan.
- Monitor production performance and ensure achievement of daily and monthly production targets.
- Supervise packaging operations in accordance with production plans, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Plan and utilize manpower effectively to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with Stores, Dispatch, Processing, Quality Assurance (QA/QC), Maintenance, and HR for smooth production operations.
- Ensure timely planning, reservation, receipt, and utilization of packaging materials and general consumables.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Maintain process quality parameters and ensure product quality throughout the production process.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with SOPs, GMP, GHP, FSSC 22000, FSSAI requirements, and 5S practices.
- Maintain job allocation records, manpower deployment, personal hygiene records, and on-the-job training documentation.
- Prepare and share daily production reports and shift-wise performance updates with management.
- Monitor and analyze online and offline wastage of laminates, cans, ICs, master cartons, and other packaging materials, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor rework activities and ensure proper segregation, storage, and documentation of rejected and rework materials.
- Supervise laminate batch printing operations and maintain complete documentation as per company procedures.
- Execute trial batches, validation activities, and improvement projects assigned by the Production In-charge or HOD.
- Report production abnormalities, prepare investigation reports, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Promote Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce losses.
- Maintain a safe working environment and actively participate in safety programs to achieve zero accidents.
- Perform monthly physical verification of production materials and inventories.
- Ensure timely completion of SAP transactions, including:
- Material Reservation
- Reservation Closure
- Work Order TECO
- Packing Material Consumption
- Finished Goods Transfer
- Breakdown Notifications
- Laminate Adjustments
- OLR Entries
- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Production In-charge, HOD, or Management.
