Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer to join our design team in developing innovative agricultural machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will support the design, modeling, and detailing of agricultural machines using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, working closely with senior engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to bring concepts from initial design to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings of agricultural machinery components and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Assist in the design and development of agricultural equipment such as reapers, weeders, and related implements.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings with proper GD&T, tolerances, BOMs, and manufacturing notes as per industry standards.
- Modify and improve existing designs based on field feedback, production input, and cost optimization requirements.
- Support prototyping activities, including coordinating with the workshop and production team during fabrication and assembly.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings, design revisions, and engineering change notes (ECNs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchase, and R&D teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Assist in reverse engineering of components when required.
- Stay updated with relevant agricultural standards, safety norms, and emerging technologies in farm machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Automobile Engineering.
- 02 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in agricultural machinery, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
- Hands-on proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, sheet metal, weldments, drawings).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, sheet metal, machining, and assembly.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, and BOM preparation.
- Familiarity with materials commonly used in agricultural equipment (mild steel, alloy steel, cast iron, etc.).
