About VeriFast Technologies

VeriFast Technologies is looking for a passionate SDE Engineer (IoT Automation Specialist) to join our growing engineering team in Ahmedabad. If you have experience in feature automation, IoT devices, embedded firmware, and CI/CD pipelines, this is an excellent opportunity to work on next-generation connected products.

You'll play a key role in developing scalable automation frameworks, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous testing across embedded systems, hardware, firmware, and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for IoT devices using Embedded C/C++.
    • Develop scalable embedded software for MCU/MPU-based products.
    • Perform Board Support Package (BSP) customization, integration, and maintenance.
    • Work on Yocto Project and Buildroot for Embedded Linux image customization and BSP development.
    • Develop and maintain custom device drivers and middleware.
    • Design, develop, and maintain custom IoT communication protocols for secure and reliable device communication.
    • Integrate and manage messaging systems using MQTT and RabbitMQ.
    • Optimize firmware performance, memory utilization, boot time, and power consumption.
    • Analyze and resolve device stability, device heating, thermal management, power optimization, and field issues.
    • Perform board bring-up, hardware debugging, firmware debugging, and root cause analysis.
    • Develop automation scripts using Python for firmware validation and production testing.
    • Collaborate with Hardware, Cloud, Mobile, QA, and Product teams throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design reviews.
    • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
    • Maintain technical documentation, release notes, and design specifications.

Required Skills

  • 2?6 years of experience in Embedded Systems and IoT Product Development.
    • Strong programming skills in:

    • Strong experience in BSP (Board Support Package) development and customization.
    • Hands-on experience with Yocto Project, Buildroot, and Embedded Linux.
    • Experience with Embedded Linux Device Drivers.
    • Good understanding of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, etc.).
    • Experience with Git and Bitbucket repositories.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD workflows using Jenkins/GitLab CI.
    • Hands-on experience with communication interfaces:

    • Ethernet
    • Experience with IoT communication protocols:
    • MQTT
    • HTTP/HTTPS

    • Experience integrating and managing RabbitMQ and MQTT brokers.

    • Experience performing root cause analysis for firmware, hardware, networking, and thermal issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
