Job description:
- Creating 2D/3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and systems.
- Conducting calculations, simulations, and testing to validate designs and ensure performance.
- Working with cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical engineers, manufacturing, product management) to integrate designs and ensure successful product development.
- Choosing appropriate materials and specifying components like pneumatic parts, gearbox, motors, etc. for various applications.
- Preparing comprehensive design documentation, conducting design reviews, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Identifying and resolving design issues during production, optimising designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensuring designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Expertise in CAD software like Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials selection.
- Ability to analyse complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and optimise designs.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good knowledge of SPM design, conveyors and material handling systems.
