We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to join our team as an Assistant Ecology Consultant. This role will be based at our AtkinsR alis office in Bangalore, IN.

Your role
    • Authoring technical ecological reports.
    • Analysing bat sound data.
    • As a proficient user of GIS, supporting with desk studies, scoping sites, records of protected species and biodiversity net gain assessments.
    • Working to tight timescales and following an approved methodology will be key feature of the role.
    • Being a team player and delivering responsibilities by meeting deadlines.
    • Developing your technical skills through Continuing Professional Development.
    • Managing your own time and workload in collaboration with other team members.
    • Liaising with the UK team on a daily basis and building a good working relationship.
    • Managing work enquiries and preparing bids under the guidance of more senior staff.
    • Carrying out additional ad hoc activities as required by process leads.
About you
    • A degree in ecology/environmental sciences/environmental engineering.
    • 2-4 years of experience working on ecology projects with experience in the UK region preferred.
    • Experience in Anabat Insight/ Kaleidoscope.
    • Proficient GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS).
    • Working knowledge of UKHab classification and the Defra Metric will be preferred.
    • Proficient ability to interpret, review and analyse data to produce reports.
    • Understanding of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing requirements.
    • Previous experience of working in international projects.
    • Project management experience including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects.
    • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
    • Highly motivated and proactive, focused on achieving and delivering technical excellence.
    • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
    • Strong in report writing, verbal communication, and presentation.
    • Quick to learn and adapt on the job.
    • Effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
    • Capable of working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Logical and organized in project delivery, following senior team members instructions and guidance.
    • Aware of how delivery time affects financial performance and proactively manages time, resources, and budget.
    • Able to identify and communicate project or team concerns to the immediate Line Manager.
    • Open to discussing career goals and aspirations.
    • Willing to share information and knowledge with team members.
    • Demonstrates initiative and basic leadership skills to direct a small work group.
    • Compliant with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
