Role & responsibilities
ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT:
- Identification of Environmental issues.
- Managing the integral environmental protection program having as guidelines: ISO 14001, corporate policies and environmental regulations.
- Waste water control and its assessment.
- Releases to atmosphere control by regular monitoring of ambient air and stack emission.
- Hazardous waste management.
- Operation and maintenance of ETP, STP to meeting State pollution control boards norms for waste water recycling.
- Prepare daily ETP/STP test report, monthly water balance, and monthly waste report and prepare action plan for its reduction.
- Conducting environment monitoring.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT:
- Safety Culture Building
- Analyse behaviour of the people in plant toward safety and devise strategies to change behaviour
- Devise site reward & recognition schemes to promote Safe Behaviour
- Training
- Decide safety training strategy for the site and coach officers/Sr. officers, HR team in preparing safety training calendar for Workmen, Execs, Managers & contractual employees
- Conduct training of necessary stakeholders in areas of Safety Standards, Work Permit Systems, Risk Assessment, Emergency Plan
- Devise a system & allocate responsibility to conduct safety briefing to all contractual employees
- Statutory Compliances
- Responsible for overall EHS related Statutory compliances for the site
- Dealing with Factory inspector, PCB, and building positive rapport
- Prepare a list of all Statutory Requirements related to Safety, allocate responsibility & develop a mechanism for tracking
- Internal Audits
- To develop a calendar for conducting Safety Audits in plant, allocate responsibility & track compliances
- Highlight key audit findings to site leadership and get the audit gasps closed with functional stakeholders
- Safety Risk Assessment /Emergency Plan
- Train the functional stakeholders on Emergency preparedness and response
- Conduct Emergency Mock-Drills as per requirement ò Periodic eview of Risk Assessment & Emergency Plan.
- Hazard Identification & Mitigation / Accident Investigation
- Coach to devise a system of spotting and reporting Hazards and mitigation of sameò
- Train the functional stakeholders on various Risk Assessment tools such as HIRA, JSA etc.
- Ensure compliance to Accident reporting and Investigation protocol.
HEALTH AND HYGIENE:
- Managing the occupational health program. Regular monitoring of Noise level, Illumination level, and VOC level in the plant.
- Continuous training to the workers exposed to chemicals using MSDS and other tools
DOCUMENTATION:
- Working Knowledge of SAP.
- Maintain the documents as per ISO 14001 and 45001.
- Prepare the monthly report having the VOC, Illumination and Noise level in work place, waste report, and water balance.
