Role & responsibilities
- Conduct safety training programs and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit statutory reports and annual returns related to Pollution Control Board and other regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and applicable EHS legal requirements.
- Support sustainability initiatives and promote environmental best practices across the plant.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification studies, and safety inspections across all operations.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement effective risk mitigation and control measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive and corrective safety actions.
- Organize and conduct emergency response drills, mock drills, and preparedness exercises.
- Drive EHS culture through safety campaigns, contests, and employee engagement activities.
- Participate in and facilitate 3P (People, Process & Plant) audits and EHS assessments.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the Work Permit System for all hazardous and non-routine activities.
- Verify safe execution of jobs at site and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Conduct weekly inspections and testing of firefighting systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain EHS records, registers, documentation, and compliance-related reports.
- Perform daily and periodic inspections of safety equipment, emergency systems, and workplace conditions.
- Track closure of safety observations, audit findings, and corrective action plans.
- Promote continual improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.
Preferred candidate profile
- Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI (Regional Labour Institute) is mandatory.
- Sound knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Strong expertise in risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of incident prevention measures.
- Experience in corporate governance, compliance management, and adherence to statutory EHS requirements.
