Cloud Native Backups: Designing and implementing backup solutions using AWS Backup, Amazon S3, RDS, EFS, and associated services. Ensuring data integrity and availability Regular backup and restore tests, tabletop exercises, and full DR failover/failback rehearsals. Managing retention policies, lifecycle management, and archive strategies including integration with object stores and tape automation. Implementing and maintaining backup automation and orchestration using scripting/automation tools like PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform. Documenting backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure continuity and compliance for production, disaster recovery, and long-term retention systems.
Key Responsibilities
ò Administer and support Rubrik, Veeam and Commvault backup environments. ò Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backup and restore jobs. ò Perform backup and recovery for VMware virtual machines. ò Manage Microsoft SQL Server database backups and restores. ò Protect and recover Windows and Linux physical servers. ò Configure and manage NAS backups (NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon, SMB/CIFS, NFS shares, or similar platforms). ò Monitor backup jobs, resolve failures, and ensure backup success. ò Generate and analyze backup reports using reporting and monitoring tools (e.g., Veeam ONE, Rubrik reporting, Commvault Command Center, Power BI, or similar tools). ò Track backup success rates, capacity utilization, SLA compliance, and storage consumption through regular reporting. ò Perform backup validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery exercises. ò Manage backup schedules, retention policies, replication, and archival. ò Maintain backup documentation, operational procedures, and audit records. ò Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, database, and application teams to support backup requirements. ò Ensure backup environments comply with security, compliance, and organizational policies.
Required Skills
ò Hands-on experience with Rubrik /Veeam /Commvault. ò Experience with VMware backup and recovery. ò Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server backup and restore. ò Experience protecting Windows and Linux physical servers. ò Experience with NAS backup technologies and file share protection (SMB/CIFS, NFS). ò Experience with backup reporting and monitoring tools such as Veeam ONE, Rubrik reporting, Commvault Command Center, or similar platforms. ò Understanding of backup strategies, retention policies, disaster recovery, replication, and backup performance monitoring. ò Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
