Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate & manage reliable suppliers for various types of packaging materials (paper, plastic, glass, etc.). Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and availability. Negotiation: Should have excellent negotiation skills. Negotiation with different category of vendors (existing & new) for comparative pricing & other commercial terms. Negotiating commercial terms with existing suppliers as per quarterly budget. Define major procurement articles & plan effective measures for controlling costs as well as inflation. Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and compliance. Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms of purchase. Inventory & Forecasting: Coordinate with the production and planning teams to forecast packaging material needs. Ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing overstock and wastage. Cost Optimization: Continuously analyse procurement costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all materials meet regulatory and safety standards. Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and supplier documents. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure packaging aligns with product requirements and timelines.
