Responsibilities

  • Design and implement REST API calls to retrieve documents and metadata from:
    • OpenText / Documentum (via OpenText REST API, Documentum REST API, or Java SDK Documentum is an OpenText platform)
    • SharePoint Online (via Microsoft Graph API)
    • Legacy systems (file shares, FTP/SFTP endpoints, legacy ECM or document databases, proprietary APIs)
    • Write scripts/services to authenticate, paginate, and download documents at scale
    • Handle error handling, retry logic, and logging for robust extraction pipelines
    • Map and extract document metadata alongside file content across heterogeneous source systems
    • Reverse-engineer or work with limited documentation from legacy system interfaces
    • Collaborate with Oracle and PLM teams to correlate documents to ERP/PLM records where applicable
    • Document API integration patterns, authentication flows, and extraction logic for each source system

Required Skills & Experience

  • REST API Development: Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs
    • Java: Required for OpenText/Documentum SDK integration (Content Server Java API, Documentum DFC, or OpenText REST SDK)
    • JavaScript (Node.js) or Python: For scripting API calls, file downloads, and automation workflows
    • Microsoft Graph API: Experience using Graph API to access SharePoint document libraries, sites, and files
    • Legacy System Integration: Experience extracting data or documents from older or underdocumented systems file shares, FTP/SFTP, legacy databases, or proprietary formats
    • Oracle SQL: Ability to query Oracle databases to cross-reference or correlate document records with structured data
    • Authentication: Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, basic auth, token-based, and legacy authentication patterns across ECM and enterprise platforms

Nice to Have

  • OpenText / Documentum: Prior hands-on experience with both Content Server and Documentum REST/SOAP APIs or DQL
    • PLM Systems: Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems (e.g., Agile, Windchill, Teamcenter) as a context for document management
    • Experience with document migration or ECM consolidation projects
    • Ability to work with XML/JSON metadata formats common in legacy ECM exports
    • Exposure to additional legacy ECM platforms or archival systems
