The Federation of Indian Plywood & Panel Industries (FIPPI) is the apex national body representing the plywood, panel, and wood-based products industry in India, engaging with policymakers, regulators, and Government departments on issues critical to the sector's growth.
Role Overview
FIPPI seeks a senior professional to serve as the second-in-command for the organisation's advocacy function, driving engagement with Central and State Government departments, regulatory authorities, and allied agencies on policy, taxation, trade, and regulatory matters affecting the industry. The role also involves maintaining active relationships with affiliate associations and comparable international industry bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day advocacy and liaison with Ministries, Government departments, and regulatory bodies
- Represent FIPPI in policy consultations, committees, and industry forums
- Draft position papers, representations, and briefing notes for Government stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships across bureaucratic and policy circles in Delhi
- Support the Director General in strategic planning and member engagement
- Monitor policy and regulatory developments relevant to the industry
- Maintain and grow relationships with affiliate associations and similar international industry bodies, including coordination on cross-border trade, standards, and best-practice exchange
Candidate Profile
- 1520 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or trade/industry association work
- Prior experience in a similar advocacy or liaison role is mandatory
- Age between 45 and 55 years
- Based in Delhi or willing to relocate
- Strong communication, drafting, and stakeholder management skills
- Existing network within Government and regulatory ecosystems preferred
- Exposure to industry affiliate bodies or international trade/industry associations is an advantage
