We are seeking highlyskilled and motivated Drilling Engineers to join our Well Construction Team.This role is pivotal in driving our drilling activities including engineering,tendering, operations and closeout. The incumbent will be part of acollaborative, multi-disciplinary team comprising Drilling Engineers, PetroleumEngineers, Production Engineers, Geologists, Geophysicists, Petrophysicists,and Reservoir Engineers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with the subsurface group to understand the subsurface requirements and drilling hazards before initiating the well design process.
- Coordinating with the completion and production groups to align the drilling schedule with the overall project delivery requirements.
- Reviewing the basis of well design and the supporting simulations (casing design, hydraulics, T&D, etc.).
- Identifying and deploying new drilling technologies to mitigate or remedy foreseeable drilling problems.
- Overseeing the preparation of drilling program / montage as per the geological prognosis issued by the subsurface team.
- Coordinating with the service provider(s) to identify and mobilize equipment before the spud deadline.
- Overseeing the preparedness for the Kick-Off, Drilling Well On Paper (DWOP) and pre-spud meetings.
- Reviewing third-party inspections and associated certifications for drilling rigs, service company equipment and company-owned inventory.
- Coordinating with the company representatives (supervisors, engineers, logistics, etc.), service company representatives, and other stakeholders at the drilling rig site to ensure seamless drilling operations.
- Monitoring daily drilling operations and reviewing preparedness of integrated / bundled / discrete services for upcoming activities (bits, directional, drilling fluids, CTRS, cementing, DFTS, waste management and other auxiliary services).
- Ensuring adherence to well engineering policies, company policies, HSE guidelines and industry standards (both local & international) while planning & coordinating drilling operations.
Reviewing MOCs and dispensations before seeking management approval.
- Supervising young engineers, trainees and interns within the drilling team and regularly assessing their competencies.
- Participating in tendering activities for upcoming projects (pre-qualification, SOW preparation, technical evaluation, E&D closure, etc.).
Responding to JV queries and representing the company inselected external engagements.
Qualifications &Experience:
- Education : A bachelors degree in Drilling or Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience : A minimum of 10 - 13 years of relevant experience.
- Software Skills : Proficiency in Landmark Suite of software is essential (minimum requirement - Wellcat, Wellplan and Compass).
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills to interpret rig site data and make informed operational decisions as well as assess new drilling technologies prior to deployment.
- Interpersonal Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
