Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :-
1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Review project specifications/ BOQ/MTO and prepare procurement plans in coordination with engineering teams.
- Float RFQs (Request for Quotation), evaluate offers, and prepare techno-commercial bid comparisons.
- Source materials, equipment, and services from qualified vendors at competitive prices.
2. Vendor & Contract Management
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with vendors (domestic & international).
- Support vendor qualification, audits, and capability assessments.
- Negotiate terms and conditions (price, delivery, payment, warranty, penalties).
- Coordinate contract finalization in collaboration with legal and commercial teams.
3. Project Coordination
- Liaise with project and engineering teams to ensure procurement aligns with design and execution schedules.
- Expedite deliveries and monitor vendor progress against agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with inspection agencies and QA/QC teams for vendor inspections and material approvals.
4. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain procurement trackers, vendor databases, and records of orders.
- Prepare periodic procurement status reports for management and clients.
- Support project close-out with complete procurement documentation.
Preferred candidate profile :-
- Education:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in sourcing piping, structural steel, civil works, electrical & instrumentation materials.
- Exposure to vendor development, contract negotiation, and ERP systems
- Knowledge of GST, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Good communication and vendor relationship skills.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work under tight schedules and multitask.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement.
