Role Summary

The Academic Counsellor is responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their academic goals, recommending suitable ALLEN programs, and converting walk-ins and enquiries into admissions. The role requires excellent communication, relationship-building, and counselling skills to achieve admission and revenue targets while delivering an outstanding customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

1. Student & Parent Counselling

  • Counsel prospective students and parents on ALLEN's JEE, NEET, Foundation, and other classroom programs.
    • Understand students' academic needs and career aspirations to recommend the most suitable courses.
    • Explain course structure, fee plans, scholarship opportunities, and admission procedures.
    • Build trust and maintain strong relationships with students and parents throughout the admission journey.

2. Admissions & Sales

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly admission and revenue targets.
    • Convert walk-ins, appointments, and enquiries into confirmed admissions.
    • Effectively handle objections and guide parents and students toward informed admission decisions.
    • Support fee collection and admission documentation as per organizational guidelines.

3. Lead Management

  • Promptly follow up with assigned leads through calls, email, and SMS.
    • Schedule counselling sessions and encourage branch visits.
    • Ensure timely follow-up of pending enquiries to maximize conversions.
    • Maintain accurate lead updates and records in the CRM system.

4. Customer Experience

  • Deliver a professional and positive counselling experience.
    • Resolve queries and concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Handle escalations with empathy and maintain high customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure a seamless admission process from enquiry to enrollment.

5. CRM & Documentation

  • Maintain complete and accurate records of enquiries, follow-ups, and admissions.
    • Ensure all required student documents are collected and verified.
    • Adhere to CRM processes and organizational SOPs.

6. Marketing & Outreach Support

  • Support admission campaigns, seminars, school outreach programs, and branch events.
    • Coordinate with the Marketing and Inside Sales teams to maximize lead conversion.
    • Participate in promotional activities to increase admissions and brand awareness.

7. Reporting

  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on enquiries, follow-ups, admissions, and revenue.
    • Track personal conversion ratios and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Share market and customer feedback with reporting managers.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline.
    • 1-6 years of experience in Academic Counselling, Admissions, Inside Sales, or Business Development.
    • Freshers with excellent communication and counselling skills may also be considered.
    • Experience in the Education or EdTech industry will be preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong counselling, negotiation, and objection-handling abilities.
    • Customer-focused with a target-driven approach.
    • Basic knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
