Area of Responsibility
- The CAD Lead Fuel Integration is responsible for leading CAD design, packaging, and vehiclelevel integration of fuel system components within the automotive powertrain domain.
- The role ensures robust 3D integration, interface maturity, CAD quality, and manufacturability of fuel systems across all development phases from concept to SOP, while mentoring CAD engineers and enforcing OEM CAD standards.
Knowledge / Experience 4 to 9 Years
Essential:
- Lead CAD design and vehiclelevel integration of fuel systems, including tanks, fuel lines, pumps, rails, filters, valves, and mountings
- Own fuel system packaging and interface integration with BIW, powertrain, chassis, thermal, NVH, and underbody systems
- Define and enforce CAD modeling standards, best practices, and data quality governance
- Review and validate 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and 2D drawings prepared by CAD engineers
- Drive packaging feasibility studies, zone layouts, and installation concepts
- Perform and oversee interference checks, clearance analysis, tolerance stackups, and mass properties validation
- Ensure proper application of GDT, drawing standards, and manufacturability principles
- Lead design and packaging reviews with system engineers, module leads, and vehicle integration teams
- Coordinate and manage engineering changes (ECR/ECO) across milestones
- Act as the CAD integration focal point for suppliers and OEM counterpart teams
- Support DFMEA activities, prototype builds, vehicle trials, and launch readiness
- Mentor junior CAD engineers and provide technical direction and escalation support
Qualification:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
