JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for applications migrating to Azure. Modernize existing onprem build/deployment processes into cloudready automated workflows. Implement pipeline automation for build, test, security scanning, artifact management, and deployment. Collaborate with application and platform teams to integrate pipelines with Azure services (AKS, App Services, VMs). Define branching strategies, workflow standards, and DevOps best practices for the migration program. Implement secrets management, identity integration, and secure access patterns for GitHub Actions. Support infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Terraform/Bicep) integrated into CI/CD workflows. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, environment issues, and deployment blockers across multiple teams. Ensure observability, logging, and governance controls are embedded into DevOps workflows. Provide technical guidance, documentation, and enablement to application teams adopting GitHub Actions.
Required Skills
DevOps engineering experience, with strong expertise in GitHub Actions. Handson experience designing CI/CD pipelines for cloudhosted applications (preferably Azure). Strong understanding of Azure services: AKS, App Services, Functions, Storage, Networking. Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Bicep. Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation. Experience integrating security scanning, code quality, and compliance checks into pipelines. Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes deployment workflows. Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and support largescale migration programs. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Good to Have Skills: Experience with GitHub Advanced Security (Dependabot, CodeQL). Exposure to Azure DevOps pipelines and migration from ADO GitHub. Knowledge of service mesh, ingress controllers, and AKS operational patterns. Familiarity with cloudnative deployment strategies (bluegreen, canary, GitOps). Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana). Certifications such as AZ400, AZ104, or GitHub Actions credentials.
