DevOps Engineer Linux / Node.js / AWS Backend Infrastructure & Cloud Management Contract / Full-time Experience:3-6 Years Exp Job Overview We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration, Node.js backend development, and hands-on AWS cloud infrastructure management experience. The ideal candidate will independently manage live production servers, deploy and maintain backend services, and proactively ensure system uptime, security, and performance across cloud and on-premise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Linux & Server Management Manage and maintain Ubuntu/Linux servers (setup, configuration, security, patching, updates) Handle server resource management CPU, memory, disk, and process optimization Configure and manage services including Nginx, PM2, and systemd Perform log monitoring, debugging, and proactive performance tuning Write and maintain shell/bash scripts for automation tasks Manage cron jobs, background workers, and queue systems AWS Cloud Infrastructure Management Provision and manage AWS infrastructure: EC2, RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch Manage security groups, load balancers (ALB/ELB), and auto-scaling configurations Monitor cloud infrastructure health using AWS CloudWatch and native AWS tools Implement and maintain cloud security best practices and IAM policies Manage cost optimization and resource right-sizing across AWS environments Backend & Deployment Deploy and manage backend services built with Node.js Manage code using Git and handle end-to-end deployment workflows Monitor and maintain Apache Kafka (setup, topic management, debugging) Troubleshoot production issues and ensure maximum system uptime Database Management Handle PostgreSQL database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization Manage RDS PostgreSQL instances on AWS including backups and failover Required Skills Infrastructure & DevOps Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Linux server administration AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch mandatory Experience with Nginx reverse proxy setup and configuration Process managers: PM2 and/or systemd Proficiency in bash/shell scripting Experience with Git and deployment workflows Backend & Data Good experience in Node.js backend development Solid understanding of Apache Kafka (setup, management, debugging) Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL: indexes, query optimization, performance tuning Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Experience with Docker / containerization Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) Experience with server security hardening and compliance Familiarity with high-load systems and real-time data processing Infrastructure as Code Terraform or AWS CDK Experience with AWS ECS / EKS for containerized deployments Experience & Work Details Experience Required 36 years (including 1û2 years of hands-on AWS infrastructure management) Work Type Contract / Full-time Cloud Requirement AWS (Mandatory) û EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch Additional Notes Strong focus on server-level debugging and performance optimization Candidate must be comfortable handling live production servers independently Problem-solving and quick troubleshooting skills are critical AWS cloud infrastructure management is a mandatory requirement for this role
