Job Description:
We are seeking a Suspension Design Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing suspension systems for our vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and ride quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop suspension systems (e.g., independent, multi-link, leaf spring).
- Perform analysis and simulations (static, dynamic, and fatigue).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, testing, and quality).
- Use CAD/CAE tools like CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
- Validate designs through prototype testing.
- Optimize designs for cost and weight without compromising performance.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of suspension dynamics and vehicle handling.
- Experience with FEA and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, SAE).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
New Product Development:
- Meeting with Management team to discuss product ideas
- Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions
- Preparing Design projects and specification sheets
- Collaborating on Engineering teams on product Feasibility
- Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs
Prototyping & testing:
- Plan and oversee the production of prototypes
- Conduct suitable tests for product validity and reliability
- Conduct static and dynamic analysis of products.
Product Launching:
- Prepare all launch documents and licenses for the products
- Educate the manufacturing team for production of new design
- Educate the sales team for product specifications features & benefits
Design Validation:
- Verify all drafted designs via engineering calculations
- Confirm equipment suitability for given design conditions and material of construction as per suitable engineering Codes
- Ensure that designs are modified and revised to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
- Coordinate with and consult with production to resolve design or other problems.
BOM Creation:
- Prepare BOM for the drawings
- Ensure that quantity and quality of each design component is accurately estimated to prepare Bill of Material (BOM) for procurement planning
