Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will lead financial operations for a company engaged in rail-road vehicles, heavy mechanical equipment, and railway construction machinery. This role involves managing project-based finances, cost control for large-scale engineering projects, and strategic planning for capital-intensive operations. The Finance Manager ensures compliance, optimizes resource allocation, and provides actionable insights to drive profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
ò Develop long-term financial strategies aligned with infrastructure and manufacturing goals.
ò Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts for multi-phase railway construction and equipment manufacturing projects.
ò Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions for cost overruns.
Project Finance & Cost Control
ò Monitor and manage project-specific financials, including procurement, fabrication, and installation costs.
ò Implement cost accounting systems for heavy machinery production and railway construction activities.
ò Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and ROI for new equipment and technology investments. Compliance & Risk Management
ò Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, tax laws, and railway industry financial regulations.
ò Oversee internal controls and risk mitigation strategies for large-scale projects.
ò Coordinate audits and maintain transparent financial reporting for stakeholders.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
ò Manage liquidity to support high-value procurement and long lead-time manufacturing cycles.
ò Optimize working capital through eAective inventory and receivables management.
ò Negotiate financing arrangements with banks and financial institutions for project funding.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
ò Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to align financial goals with operational plans.
ò Provide financial insights for tender preparation, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
Qualifications & Skills:
ò Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CA/CPA preferred).
ò 10+ years of experience in financial management, with exposure to manufacturing, heavy engineering, or infrastructure projects.
ò Strong knowledge of cost accounting, project finance, and capital budgeting for large scale industrial operations.
ò Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel modeling.
ò Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
ò Familiarity with railway industry standards and government compliance frameworks is a plus.
