Job Title: Network Service Test Engineer (Telecom NonProduction Testing) Role Overview: We are hiring a midlevel Network Service Test Engineer to support telecom service testing in nonproduction environments. The role focuses on remote test execution, regression testing, and trace/log analysis, working closely with onsite teams in New Zealand who manage physical test kits and model networks.
Key Responsibilities
Execute service tests for Voice, Data, and Transport networks Perform regression testing and postexecution validation Capture and analyse logs, traces, and protocol messages Identify issues, anomalies, and support defect validation Prepare test execution results and reports Coordinate with onsite test initiators for test handover and status updates Handle multiple test executions in parallel Required Skills: 36 years of experience in telecom or network service testing Knowledge of Voice (VoIP, SIP, VoLTE) and/or Data/Transport networks (IP, routing, switching) Experience working in nonproduction or lab/model network environments Handson experience with log, trace, and packet analysis Familiarity with distributed or offshore delivery models Tools & Technologies (Experience with some or similar): Trace / Packet Analysis: Wireshark, tcpdump, tshark Logs & Monitoring: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Splunk, Grafana Network Testing / Validation: Vendor test tools, call generators, traffic simulators (as applicable) Test & Defect Management: Jira, ALM, HP QC, or equivalent Access & Remote Ops: VPN, jump hosts, remote lab access tools Work Model: Offshore execution role with defined collaboration window with New Zealand teams No physical lab or test kit handling required Work on multiple time zones.
