Job Title: Transport Optimizer

Main Purpose of Job :
The transport optimizer forms part of the operational team responsible for transportation planning. Within the team, the transport optimizer will function as first point of contact for order creators. The transport optimizer will focus on the transformation of freight units to freight orders while meeting predefined constraints including source and destination shipping schedules, requested delivery dates and planning cutoff times. All freight order creation activities performed by the transport optimizer should fulfill the objective of building actionable and mode-optimal transportation plans.
Key Outputs -
Transportation Planning [R] :
Plan all outbound deliveries for execution considering defined cut off time agreed with Order to Cash
- review all open outbound deliveries (freight units) at different outbound delivery cut off intervals
- communicate with respective associate from customer solution analyst team on load confirmation at CD level
- segregrate freight units with different loading group (ambient & reefer) for seperate transport plan
- create forwarding freight orders in SAP for all non-inventorized or sample movements
- select relevant planning profile and move plannable Freight Units into transportation cockpit
- check vehicle fill rate and then accept if the minimum criteria is met
- tender load or place indent to transporter through tendering profile in SAP TM
- create resolution item in operational visibility tool for any unplannable freight units
- inform the Load Compliance coordinator on all the above resolution items
- get the dedicated vehicle arrival status from service specialist
- create route plan for dedicated van and create freight orders according to the plan
- dedicated van total KM run updation in shipment at the end of shipment completion
- create pre-booking freight orders from dispatch plan shared by factory deployment team
- create customer pick up shipment for self lifting customers
- collaborates with load compliance coordinator for resolution of unplannable freight units
- create inbound delivery (IBD) for Nestle managed transportation from supplier
On Time Pick Up Management [A]:
- collaborate with scheduling specialist and ensure dock appointments are captured in freight orders
- monitor operational visibility tool to gauge that all the loads are covered
Load Completion [A]:
- Ensure shipment end date and time basis PoD acknowledgement
Financial Approval [A]:
- Check whether all the loads are planned as per cluster
- Ensure business share is maintained in route guide compliance
- Guard tendering of load as per rank list generated in freight order quadrant
- Use subcontracting statuses for spot tendering
- Maintain audit trail for all manual changes done in freight order
