ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Manager to lead and manage end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations across the Chandigarh region. This is a critical leadership role that requires strong operational expertise, cross-functional coordination skills, and the ability to ensure seamless inbound and outbound movement of goods across warehouses, branches, and CFA partners. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to logistics planning, vendor management, and real-time problem resolution while maintaining robust MIS reporting for senior management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Logistics Planning

  • Coordinate, schedule, and optimize inbound and outbound shipments across multiple transportation modes (road, rail, air) to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
    • Develop route plans and load optimization strategies to improve last-mile delivery performance.
    • Continuously review and improve logistics workflows to reduce transit time, detention, and freight costs.

2. Regional Coordination

  • Manage logistics operations across multiple warehouses and branches within the Chandigarh region, ensuring alignment with company-wide logistics strategies.
    • Coordinate with regional teams to ensure uniform operational standards and SLA compliance.
    • Act as the regional point of contact for all logistics-related escalations and decisions.

3. Supply Chain Operations

  • Monitor inventory levels across regional warehouses and ensure optimal stock positioning to prevent shortages or excess.
    • Oversee warehouse activities including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods in line with company policies.
    • Ensure proper documentation, labelling, and compliance with safety and regulatory norms at all facilities.

4. Vendor Management

  • Identify, onboard, and manage logistics and transport vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery.
    • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with transporters and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
    • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and maintain a vendor scorecard to drive accountability.
    • Resolve vendor disputes and performance gaps proactively to avoid operational disruption.

5. Problem Resolution

  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve logistical disruptions including transit delays, cargo damages, accidents, and route blockages.
    • Develop contingency plans and alternate routing strategies to maintain supply continuity during disruptions.
    • Document all incidents, root cause analyses, and corrective actions for continuous improvement.

6. CFA Management

  • Coordinate with the Clearing & Forwarding Agent (CFA) team to monitor and ensure timely closure and dispatch of all customer orders.
    • Track CFA-level dispatch status on a daily basis and address pending order bottlenecks in coordination with the CFA team.
    • Ensure CFA operations are aligned with company dispatch norms, order fulfillment timelines, and quality standards.

7. In-House Customer (Sales Team) Coordination

  • Maintain regular coordination with the respective regional sales teams to manage day-to-day logistics requirements and support business priorities.
    • Ensure timely resolution of any logistics-related issues raised by the sales team to prevent revenue impact.
    • Act as a bridge between the logistics function and commercial teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

8. Reporting & MIS

  • Report in parallel to the Logistics HOD and Warehouse HOD at Head Office, ensuring visibility on regional operations.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive Daily / Weekly / Monthly MIS reports covering shipment status, pending orders, vendor performance, cost analysis, and inventory levels.
    • Highlight exceptions, risks, and opportunities in regular reporting to enable data-driven decisions by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
    • Systems: Hands-on experience with SAP (MM/WM modules), ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is mandatory.
    • CFA/3PL Exposure: Prior experience managing CFA operations, third-party logistics, or multi-branch distribution is an added advantage.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of transport regulations, GST/e-way bill compliance, and warehousing norms applicable in the region.
