Role Description
The Stewardship Voting team is a sub - team of the DWS Sustainability and Stewardship Office, which is part of Platform Sustainability within the Investment Division. The team is responsible for proxy voting execution and supports stewardship analysis, company engagement, and related reporting activities across institutional mandates and retail funds. This includes the review of governance matters reflected in shareholder meeting agendas, oversight and monitoring of voting execution, internal stakeholder communication and contributions to stewardship - related reporting and disclosures.
Your key responsibilities
- As an Investment Stewardship Analyst, you are part of the Stewardship Voting team, working closely with colleagues across Frankfurt, New York, and Mumbai.
- In this role, you will support the team in stewardship analysis, voting operations, reporting and documentation.
- The responsibilities will include:
Stewardship analysis and company assessment:
- Analyse relevant international governance topics and selected ESG matters reflected in shareholder meeting agendas
- Support qualitative screening and research on investee companies
- Contribute to the assessment of governance and selected ESG risks and opportunities relevant to stewardship activities
Voting operations and execution
- Support end - to - end proxy voting processes, including ballot monitoring, vote execution, control checks and reporting
- Track voting outcomes and communicate execution status to relevant internal stakeholders
- Maintain voting records and related process documentation
Engagement, reporting and documentation
- Support engagement activities with investee companies, including meeting preparation, documentation and monitoring
- Prepare presentations and maintain relevant stewardship and voting documentation
- Support the development and maintenance of stewardship and voting documents
- Contribute to RfPs, due diligence requests, client reporting and selected disclosures, including input to the DWS Annual Report and DWS Stewardship Report
Your skills and experience
Education and Experience
- Degree in law, finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant
- Basic understanding of financial analysis, corporate governance and capital markets
- Prior experience in investment stewardship/proxy voting activities or related ESG activities would be beneficial
- Strong understanding of the asset management business
- Advanced proficiency in MS - Office
- Ability to work with large data sets; familiarity with automation tools would be beneficial
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Genuine interest in responsible investment and stewardship
