Job Summary: The Telecom Technician is responsible for supporting the repair, testing, installation, maintenance, and servicing of telecom and communication equipment.
The role includes basic troubleshooting, assembly/disassembly, testing, replacement of parts, and assisting engineers in ensuring smooth repair and service operations.
Key Responsibilities: Support diagnosis and repair of telecom equipment and communication devices.
Perform basic troubleshooting of telecom hardware, power units, boards, and accessories. Assist in disassembly, assembly, testing, and repair of telecom units. Replace faulty components, connectors, cables, adapters, and basic electronic parts as per process. Perform testing of repaired units using standard tools and test procedures. Support engineers in chip-level / component-level repair activities. Maintain records of repaired units, testing status, and pending jobs. Coordinate with warehouse / spare parts teams for material and component availability. Ensure proper handling, packing, and movement of repaired / defective telecom equipment. Follow SOPs, ESD guidelines, and safety standards in repair operations. Support daily production / repair targets and maintain workplace discipline. Escalate complex faults to the repair engineer or technical lead. Required Qualifications ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Telecom, or related trade. 1-4 years of experience in telecom repair, electronics service, technician support, or hardware maintenance. Required Skills Basic knowledge of telecom equipment and electronics repair. Understanding of testing tools like multimeter, soldering iron, and basic repair instruments. Ability to support repair, assembly, and testing work. Good coordination and teamwork skills. Basic computer knowledge for reporting and job tracking. Preferred Experience Experience in telecom service center, network equipment service, repair workshop, or electronics repair environment. Exposure to routers, switches, modems, set-top boxes, ONT/OLT, power supply units, or related telecom devices.
