Purpose/Objective To ensure accurate, complete, and standardized Material Master Data management across SAP systems by governing the creation, modification, extension, and maintenance of material records while ensuring compliance with data governance policies and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage creation, modification, extension, and governance of Material Master data across SAP views including Basic Data, Classification, Purchasing, MRP, Plant Data, Storage, Accounting, Sales, Quality Management, and Warehouse Management.
- Assess and analyze the business impact of Material Master changes on the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, including Purchase Requisition (PR), Purchase Order (PO), Goods Receipt (GR), Invoice Verification (IV), Inventory Valuation, and Vendor Payment processes.
- Maintain and validate Purchasing View parameters such as Purchasing Group, Order Unit, GR Processing Time, Source List, and procurement-related settings to support uninterrupted procurement operations.
- Maintain and validate MRP parameters including MRP Type, Reorder Point, Planning Strategy, Lot Sizing Procedures, and Lead Times to support material planning and inventory optimization.
- Validate Accounting View data including Valuation Class, Price Control, Standard/Moving Average Price, Profit Center, and Valuation Type to ensure accurate financial and inventory postings.
- Execute material classification activities, including UNSPSC mapping, Product Hierarchy assignment, and HSN/SAC code validation, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Ensure adherence to Material Naming Conventions, Short Text Standards, PO Text Standards, and Material Master governance guidelines.
- Perform duplicate checks, data enrichment, and quality validations before material creation or modification to maintain high data quality and prevent redundancy.
- Support creation and maintenance of Split Valuation, Batch Management, Material Status, Blocking/Unblocking, and Deletion Flag activities as per business requirements.
- Conduct mass updates, bulk uploads, plant extensions, valuation updates, and data migration activities using SAP-approved tools and templates.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Inventory, Maintenance, Engineering, Project, and Plant Operations teams for implementation of critical material master changes and issue resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve master data-related issues impacting procurement, inventory management, planning, warehouse operations, and financial processes.
- Ensure all Material Master activities comply with data governance policies, audit requirements, internal controls, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Support master data cleansing, standardization, harmonization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze Material Master reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data quality metrics to support business decision-making and governance objectives.
- Provide user support, training, and guidance on Material Master processes, SAP MDG workflows, and data governance requirements.

- : - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- SAP MM/MDG certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience: - 4รป6 years of experience in SAP Material Master Data Management, SAP MM, SAP MDG, or Master Data Governance functions.
- Hands-on experience in material creation, extension, classification, and data governance activities.
- Experience working with procurement, inventory management, supply chain, and plant operations processes.
- Knowledge of Material Master views, MRP, Purchasing, Accounting, Logistics, and Classification data.
- Familiarity with data quality management, data cleansing, audit compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and SAP reporting tools is preferred.
