Quality Assurance & Control
- Perform in-process, post-process, and final inspections of wind turbine blades, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Inspect lamination, infusion quality, bonding, finishing, dimensional accuracy, and composite integrity of blades.
- Review and verify quality documents, checklists, and test reports as per QMS requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to work instructions, SOPs, control plans, and inspection criteria.
Defect Identification & Analysis
- Identify defects related to composite layup, infusion, curing, surface finishing, bonding, and assembly.
- Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) using 5 Why, Fishbone, and other structured problem-solving tools.
- Work with Production, Process Engineering, and Design teams to implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate inspection records, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), DCRs (Defect Control Reports), and rework documentation.
- Ensure compliance with QMS, ISO, and customer audit requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports.
Process Monitoring & Improvement
- Monitor adherence to process parameters critical to blade integrity (vacuum levels, resin flow, curing temp, material handling, etc.).
- Participate in internal audits, process audits, and supplier audits as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, rework, and scrap.
Material & Equipment Management
- Verify correct usage of raw materialsfiberglass, resin, core materials, adhesives?and ensure traceability.
- Ensure calibration and proper functioning of quality inspection tools (ultrasonic testing, measuring instruments, templates, gauges, etc.).
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure quality processes are aligned with HSE standards on the shop floor.
- Promote safe working practices during inspections and material handling activities.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of composite materials and manufacturing (Glass fiber, Carbon fiber, Resin infusion).
- Hands-on experience in WTG blade quality or similar composite-heavy industries (Aerospace, Marine, Automotive).
- Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, control plans, and composite specifications.
- Proficiency in RCA, CAPA, and quality tools such as 5S, SPC, PFMEA, and MSA.
- Knowledge of UT, tap-testing, dimensional inspection, and NDT methods.
