Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a premier aerospace and defense company wholly owned by the Government of India. Founded in 1940, HAL is among the oldest and largest aerospace companies in Asia.
Our Story
HAL was established as Hindustan Aircraft Limited in Bangalore in 1940. The company has been instrumental in building India indigenous aerospace capabilities, manufacturing fighter jets, helicopters, and aircraft engines.
What We Do
HAL designs, develops, manufactures, repairs, and overhauls aircraft, helicopters, engines, and aerospace systems. Key programs include Tejas, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Jaguar, Dhruv, and Light Combat Helicopter.
