Structural Design Engineer

Job description
Role & responsibilities

For plant buildings and shelters, design structures that are economically and structurally sound according to the load requirements specified in the design criteria.
Structural engineer shall establish a rational structural plan and design optimized structures considering safety, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.

CONTRACT REVIEW:

- Applicable codes & standards
- Local regulations

BASIC DESIGN

- Design criteria for structural works
- Soil Investigation report review
- Preliminary structural design

DETAIL DESIGN

- Selection of construction materials
- Selection of load suitable for building use
- Selection of efficient structural system considering economic efficiency
- Rational structural planning
- Structural analysis and member design
- Review the adequacy of structural members
- Preparation of structural calculations
- Preparation of structural drawings
- Preparation of structural standards and details

Coordinating with other team Engineers, providing technical support and trouble shooting for site work, Providing Technical support for purchase work.

- Preferential treatment for experienced in
1) Structural analysis and design for high seismic area
2) Blast resistant design for buidlings
3) Foundation design for vibrating machinery
- Relevant experience related to buildings and shelters of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical plant

Preferred candidate profile

- Good Communication.

- Computer skill preferable (Auto CAD, MS Word, Excel, Structural Analysis Program(STAAD, SAP2000, MIDAS))

- Awareness of global codes, standards for building and structural design including ACI, AISC, ASTM, ISO, BS, NFPA etc.

Preferred previous work experience in MNC(Multi-National Company) of Plant EPC.
