We are seeking a skilled Data Catalogue SME to join our team
As a Data Catalogue SME, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient organization, management, and utilization of data assets
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data Catalogue solutions, facilitating data discovery, metadata management, and ensuring data governance and compliance
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles, experience with data Catalogue tools (Open Metadata is a preference and / or similar), and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to meet business objectives
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement data Catalogue strategies and solutions to effectively organize and manage data assets across the organization
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data Catalogue solutions meet business needs
Configure and customize data Catalogue tools to facilitate data discovery, metadata management, and data lineage tracking
Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices within the organization
Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and users to onboard new datasets into the data Catalogue and ensure accurate metadata documentation
Conduct data profiling and quality assessments to identify data issues and improve data accuracy and reliability
Provide guidance and support to teams on utilizing the data Catalogue for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making
Monitor data Catalogue performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance usability and efficiency
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data Cataloguing and data management
Train and mentor team members on data Catalogue usage, data governance principles, and best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
Master s degree preferred
2 8-11 years of experience in data operations, database administration, or a related role Strong technical expertise in one or more data catalogue tools (Open Metadata, Collibra, Azure Purview, Dataedo, Apache Atlas, DataHub) Proficiency in Python, Grafana, Iceberg, Airflow, Terraforms, Kubernetes, Apache Arrow, Data Lineage Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Proven track record of driving process improvements, optimizing data workflows, and delivering measurable business outcomes
Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies
Relevant certifications in data management, data operations, or related areas are a plus
Mandatory Data Catalogue Tools experience (one or more): Open Metadata, Collibra, Azure Purview, Dataedo, Apache Atlas, DataHub
