Introduction:

The purpose of this role within Fraud Transaction Cycle (FTC) - Fraud Analytics, is the provision of data driven analytics for the management of Fraud decision strategy, to maximise the performance of Fraud risk systems, toolkits and associated data and processes to contribute directly to the proactive detection of fraud and the reduction of fraud losses while minimising impact to our genuine customers and their transactions.

What will you be doing?

  Structuring and executing research and analysis into performance of existing strategies whilst ensuring that strategy aligns with Fraud Risk Appetite and keeping stakeholders across all disciplines and functions appropriately informed and updated.
o    Undertake analytical research and data acquisition with the aim of creating strategically important new future state’ Fraud risk management and decision capability
o    Take on a segment specialism e,g Digital/First Party process and for that segment take responsibility for monitoring performance and driving change.  Act as an expert within the Fraud Risk Management team for that segment.
o    Regular Monitoring of Fraud trends to proactively identify opportunities to revise and enhance on going strategy or device new one to prevent fraud and reduce genuine customer impact
o    Close liaison with Analytics and Strategy team stakeholders and to ensure rule / system monitoring is optimal and formulate the requirement for new performance monitoring if required
o    Help ensure regular delivery of standardized MI Pack to agreed stakeholders
o    Review of analytical deliveries & ad-hoc requests and their completeness from quality ,timeline and usability 
o    Drive Initiatives to improve and automate processes to minimize errors and reduce effort Comply and enforce Fraud risk governance framework, change management requirements, EUDA and process review requirements.

  Exceptional technical skill, highly proficient SAS/SQL, excel skills
o    Outstanding analytical skills and critical thinking to digest and interpret complex concepts underpinning portfolio modelling and analytics.
o    Ability to research and synthesise findings to develop future strategic capability and position papers.
o    Data extraction and manipulation skills and understanding of data issues to prepare and validate analysis
o    Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems.
o    Passion for data driven and conceptual analysis and how this contributes in a commercial context
o    High level communication and persuasion skills with the ability to think quickly and package ideas and results in a logical, understandable and compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o    Well developed personal organisation and commercial acumen, with the ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines, influencing stakeholders and colleagues to do so.
o    A range of interpersonal skills including innovation, determination and teamwork
o    Educational Qualification: Graduate in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/B. Tech/BE

o    Masters in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Operation Research 
o    Practical experience of key data analysis techniques ; CHAID/CART, Regression, Score Card and Clustering 
o    Working knowledge of Fraud, or similar risk systems, such as Hunter and Falcon, preferably with experience in the use of data analytics and statistical techniques to optimise rules and strategies within such systems.
o    Working knowledge of BIG Data( Hive, Impala etc.) and Machine learning techniques(Random forest, SVM etc.)
